Even met with Santa and his team of multi-colored elves. Come the turn of Christmas, midnight hour, these cute little buggers came dropping in through my chimney, one by one, bearing their native gifts. The _Maroon Elf_ brought me a steady bench with real presence made of solid hardwood. The _Purple Elf_ brought me high-definition binoculars with built-in image recognition and storage. The _Green Elf_ brought me a big basket full of heart-healing herbs. The _Teal Elf_ brought me a stash of incense with fragrant hope spreading in all directions. The _Orange Elf_ brought me a pick-axe for splitting rocks. Weird fellow that one. The _Yellow Elf_ brought me a multi-purpose craftsman tool set. The _Magenta Elf_ brought me a twelve- volume anthology of essential tales. The _Crystal Elf_ brought me a kaleidoscopic looking glass. A real trip that one. So I was obviously surprised. Left speechless there for a little bit. What's with you, radiant little folk? Why all these gifts? They all just smiled and giggled, nudging each other, exchanging glances as if they knew something that I did not. Bellowed the deepest voice down the chimney — Santa himself. "You have been a good child — growing up to be a real son of man. Seeking every essence in your life — sharing it freely with your friends. We bear you many a gift. Many more will follow." Okay? Well, that's a different sort of Christmas happening there. "If you ever wish to visit the headquarters, just whistle at your highest pitch up the chimney. Rudolph will be right there to pick you up. We'll meet the management, swap some notes. Mr. Elf Structor. Ms. Elf Flower. Mr. Elf Reactor. Ms. Elf Revealer. We'll even sit down for dinner with the Grand Elf himself. He runs the circus in my absence." Well, okay. That sounds like an invitation of some proportions. Thanks, Santa! I'll keep that in mind. The first chance I get, I'll head out to the North Pole, see your base camp. And all you cute little elves — thanks a million times million. _Maroon Elf_ for the bench. _Purple Elf_ for the binoculars. _Green Elf_ for the healing herbs. _Teal Elf_ for the incense. _Orange Elf_ for the pick-axe. _Yellow Elf_ for the craftsman tools. _Magenta Elf_ for the volumes of books. And _Crystal Elf_ for the looking glass. Safe trails back to the yonderland y'all — we'll see you shortly! And so all the little elves scurried back up the chimney and hopped on Santa's sleigh. "Hou hou hou hoooྃ..." That was Santa's closing note. If all you got was sticks and stones, then that isn't fair — or is it? But no matter. We have plenty to share with all the good children.
