"When the eye is clear, the body will be full of light", they said. This eye is our attention. Where you direct it, there your consciousness lands. Your consciousness is the light that pervades whatever body it is that you attend to.
When your eye, your attention, is biased and fractured, there will be darkness in every corner of your being. When your eye is singular, when your attention is undivided, light will fill all of your being.
It is so with your physical body. It is so with your body of emotions and your body of cognition, even the body of what you conceive of as your identity. These are all concrete and subtle bodies that we may gaze upon with fractured or with unified vision.
With this reference, we look at some key teachings in the Bible that stand to benefit us in our cognitive evolution.
Bodies of Earth and Heaven — Blueprint of Ascension ¶
They say, "There are bodies of earth, and then bodies of heaven, and the body of heaven is born of the body of earth." What do we make of this?
In here, in the world of concrete forms of substance, we have a complete blueprint, a point of reference as to the nature of reality. Our physical body, the body of the world as a whole — the fabric of creation as we know it. In itself immaculate.
However, we do not attain bodies of heaven, we do not enter vehicles of ascension, etc. — because our vision is distorted. We are biased into taking into our little shells. We do not release our distorted cravings and open ourselves, our attention, our awareness, to the fullness of what is, as it is.
When you attend to the blueprint of creation — as it is, innate, natural, without trying to make anything of it, without seeking to exploit it for your own selfish purposes. It will bring you to a realm of your consciousness, an aspect of your inner workings. The keys to your ascension are right before you and intimately within you — if only you might look at them as they are, without distortion.
Seven Churches of Revelation — Our Inner Pilgrimage ¶
It is with this lens of insight that we may enter the Book of Revelation. At the very beginning we have Christ, the consummate one, advising the seven churches of Asia Minor, in a manner of narrative.
But it is said, "The seven churches are the seven lampstands, the seven stars, and the seven angels of the churches."
There are parallels here. Let us explore. The seven churches are the seven concrete domains of being. The seven lampstands are the seven vantage points into these realms. The seven stars are your attention, concentrated, and the seven angels are the fulfilled insight that follows from your attention to the concrete being of your churches.
"The churches as a whole are the body of Christ", they say. And indeed, these seven domains, these seven stations, leading to consummation, are integral to the fullness of our becoming. For that reason, the consummate one advises each of the seven churches, admonishing them, encouraging them, pointing to their faults and their merits.
Do not look upon these as historical narratives or mythic visions. Look upon these entirely internalized. You are the Holy Land, polluted, conquered. You are the host of the churches. You are the seed of consummate becoming, the fulfillment of existence.
The Kingdom of God Within — Into Sacred Union ¶
With this insight, we may proceed into the Kingdom of Heaven that is within you. Not here, not there, not in the other worlds, not become on earth, somewhere else. That much has been very clearly stated, but alas, we look for the Kingdom of Heaven in all the wrong places.
Of twelve foundations, of twelve gates, of twelve pearls above the gates. Four of them cardinal, four of them fixed, four of them mutable, in tiers of four and eight. Where do we find these? We find these in the blueprint of our existence, the properties of our awareness.
Then identify the church of your concern domain. Rise to the platform, look through the lampstand. Light up your star, and follow the weavings of the angels. There is your pilgrimage, from church to church, covering the lay of the land — until meeting with the consummate one, the anointed one, the Christ become the fullness in the human realm.
In approach of the translucent throne, rise to the subtle plane, the elemental plane. Meet the four high evangelists, meet the four strange creatures — like unto a bull, a human, a lion, and an eagle — and the four angels that govern these spheres.
And remember, on that throne in the nexus and heart of all being, reflective, there is no concrete state, no subject to be found. The one who sits on the throne is the lamb that was sacrificed, who forsook the pangs, the shackles of the earth, became nothing in order to be wed with everything. This is the mystic union.
This is the process described in Bible, described in countless other traditions. Symbols to be unpacked and internalized. Seek not another, seek not the out there. The out-there is simply for your reference — a reflector into the in-here.
