Is your mind boggled yet? Good. Boggling the mind is good for you. Churning, an essence rises to the surface.
So here's a good one. I was looking for an icon for filtering, funneling, extracting data. And some genius at Stack Overflow came up with a symbol I had not come across before. This one.
So, it turns out that the symbol, as I traced it to its meaning, is actually for Fimus Equinus — the ancient alchemical symbol for horse dung. So, on the whole of the Unicode plane, we don't have filter, funnel — but we have the ancient alchemical symbol for horse dung. And I do appreciate that on a level.
Now, you may be wondering, what on earth were the alchemists doing with the horse dung? They used it as a medium for ripening materials. Nigredo, the blackening, melanosis, the first phase of the transformation process. You need to collect the critical mass and process it. Only then, albedo, a certain brightening happens. After that, catalysis and culmination.
So — engage your boggling mind. Churn the horse dung, bring out your essence. Culminate the Magnum Opus. That's the story for tonight.
