Pushing It My Way or No Way • Third Way of True Priority?Play

We could aim to advance our common concerns on priority. Identify shared roots and set them to the fore. But we won't. Not because we can't. Because we just don't want to. It's us vs. them — and our gang and herd should have more and better.

We live in a polarized jungle. Truth is the enemy of our wants. Many of the world's major concerns could resolve via common sense — no nuclear science needed — with impartial governance. But no. Let's battle 'til the terminal instead.

Oh how I wish we could all take aim together, set common objectives, pursue a direction beneficial for everyone. But alas, it's so very complicated, when we remain polarized, when we define ourselves in contrast and opposition to everyone else. Us versus them, our needs versus their needs.

There is no third way, there is no middle ground. Grudgingly we make compromises, but we retain the supremacy of our will and our way. There's always a third way, but a third way opens on a higher ground. Not in the concrete imperatives you set on your terrain.

The points you keep on hammering, as if they were a matter of your survival, even though often they're not, they're just your preferences... Do you ever pause to consider, what's the point of my point? What of it is actually vital in a more universal sense, and what of it is simply the way you want it. If we don't separate objective needs from subjective wants, it's war forever and ever. Right?

None of this is really nuclear science. A lot of it is just plain old common sense logic. It's not a matter of people not being able to understand. It's unwillingness to look into it. When there are points being made, facts landing on the table that do not support your wish and will, then you become defensive. They become your enemy. Because it was never about truth, it was about what you want — right?

Then you team up, gang up, herd up with those who want the same as you and your oppose and you battle those who want something else. Conquer those who have what you require in satisfying your needs and in subjugating the needs of others. And so strong-willed individual imposers become tribal imposers, leading to kingdoms, leading to empires and emperors. Driving a particular slanted vision.

But there's always the bigger predator. There's always the apex predator of time. "Time I am, the ancient destroyer of worlds." Time itself, with a thousand mouths, will devour your slanted empires. Time itself, with its thousand boots, will stomp your kingdoms to pulp. What remains is but the juice of essence that we all keep seeking, cycle after cycle.

We could, you know, in principle just bypass this process of battles and terminations, and get straight to the point, to the essence that is behind the essence of what we all seek on the surface. Drive ahead on first priority the roots that unify and nurture us all. Whatever nutrients, resources, assets that be left over, then spread those among your more particular concerns. But keep the roots intact.

Tiers of abstraction, hierarchies of necessity. Balanced and equitable distribution of resources. That is by the way what economy is supposed to be. The only hard to understand nuclear science here is the fact that we all need to be apparently nuked from the orbit before we snap out of it. As an abundant testament and testimony to that, all you need to do is open your eyes, see what's going on in the world.

Where is it going? What are we driving? In a global society, we are beyond "my way or the highway". There is no more highway. All the space has been claimed. It's my way or no way. And no way it shall be for all. The systemic terminal. All right. It goes exactly the way we push it. Push for polarization. Invite the terminal.

So that's all very grave and serious there, but I did say in the beginning, this is not a dream casting from the Never Neverland. Stay safe. Pull together. Keep it real.
