Emotions. Can't live with them — can't live without them. Evolution brought us the full palette for a reason. However... All too often our emotions are misplaced and ungrounded — reflcting not "what is", but our ideas. Doesn't work does it?

Then our questions: 1. How do you deal with "ungrounded" emotions — born of illusions? 2. How do you keep "true" emotions — born of reality — on their rails? 3. Is this worth your trouble — can you just transcend it all? Share your reflections!

Got a couple of questions for you. On emotions. Please weigh in. Help me out. Share your insights. The reality of emotions, their role and meaning in our lives. Can't live with them, can't live without them, right? It's problematic.

At a quick glance, before you start mincing it to bits, it seems that there are two kinds of emotions. One, the unrooted emotions, that are basically not responses to "what is". Our ideas. And on the other hand, direct raw emotions, intimately connected with reality as it is.

And I'll bet the billion dollars that I don't have on the fact that you have experienced ungrounded, rootless emotions, pure hallucinations, both from others and arising from within yourself. How do you deal with those?

When someone's right there in the middle of that emotional wave, that doesn't really stand on anything real. It's very challenging to start deconstructing it, pointing out that, hey, you are actually reacting to what is not. Reality check. Typically, doesn't go down that well. How do you deal with that?

Then on the other hand, we have the direct raw emotions, intimately arising from reality itself. Reactions, reflexes to "what is". Positive and negative alike. Fear, anger, joy, surprise, etc. There's a certain potential in all of these. But how do we leverage this potential, a transformative potential, without being blinded by it, without letting the emotion take full control of our lives? For all the worth and reality in its being, it cannot become the sovereign chief of our existence.

So that's all there. Let me recap in short. Our questions for the day.

1. How do you constructively deal with unrooted, ungrounded emotions that are simply reactions from ideas, habits, conditioning, traumas, with no basis in what is — what could be directly dealt with.

2. Then how do you deal with the rooted, real emotions that are rising from reality, directly, in order to catalyze you in a particular way? They are evolutionary products — but how do we engage them? And also,

3. Is the long hard road of actually processing your spectrum of emotions worth the trouble, or should we simply detach — whispers in the wind, all of it passing by, transcending? Which one of these is an option? Are they both options?
